Hey Leute, let's talk about something seriously scary: Betrüger, die sich als Polizisten ausgeben. This happened to my Oma, and it was a total nightmare. It really shook us up, and I want to share her story so you can avoid falling victim to these lowlifes.

It all started with a phone call. A smooth-talking guy, claiming to be a detective from the local police station – super convincing, he even knew her name and address. He told her a crazy story about a massive bank fraud ring and how her bank account was compromised. Oma, bless her heart, was totally freaked out. She’s not exactly tech-savvy, so she believed him.

The scammer's whole spiel was carefully planned. He created a sense of urgency, telling her she needed to act immediately. He said she had to transfer all her money to a "secure" account to protect it from the thieves. Classic con, right? But it worked. She actually did it. Several thousand Euros – gone.

We found out about it the next day, completely by accident. She mentioned it casually like, "Oh, I moved my money." My stomach dropped. I immediately called the police. They confirmed it was a scam, one of those awful Impersonation Scams. We were devastated.

This experience taught me a few things. First, education is key. We need to talk to our older relatives – parents, grandparents – about these scams. Explain how they work. Make sure they know the police never ask for bank details over the phone. Never.

• Melden Sie verdächtige Anrufe oder E-Mails bei der Polizei. This helps them track these criminals and hopefully stop them from scamming others.
