Ernstfall Schutzraum: Notfallplan – Meine Erfahrungen und Tipps
Hey Leute, let's talk about something super important, but maybe a little uncomfortable: Ernstfall Schutzraum and having a solid Notfallplan. It's not the most fun topic, I know. It's one of those things you kinda hope you'll never need, but man, are you glad you planned for it if something does happen. I learned this the hard way.

Mein persönlicher Schockmoment

A few years back, during a pretty nasty storm – think howling wind, torrential rain, the whole shebang – our power went out. No big deal, right? Wrong. We live in a pretty rural area, so the power outages are often longer than in the city. But this time, it was different. The news reported potential flooding and even mentioned the possibility of needing to use our basement as a Schutzraum. I completely froze. We had no real Notfallplan. No emergency supplies, no designated meeting point, nothing. I felt like a total idiot. The kids were freaking out, and I was even more freaked out than they were. It was a seriously humbling experience.
Luckily, things didn't get too bad that time. The flooding stayed away from our house, the power came back on after a few hours, and we all managed to avoid any significant issues. But that night changed my perspective completely.

Der Aufbau eines soliden Notfallplans

That experience pushed me to create a thorough Notfallplan focusing on our Schutzraum (our basement). Here's what I learned and what I recommend:
1. Die Bestandsaufnahme:
- Was hast du? Start by listing all the resources available in your potential Schutzraum. Do you have enough space for everyone? Is it waterproof? What about ventilation? You need to assess both the strengths and weaknesses of your space.
- Was brauchst du? Then, make a list of essentials you’ll need in an emergency. Water is obviously number one – aim for at least one gallon per person per day for several days. Non-perishable food is crucial. A first-aid kit, a radio, flashlights (and extra batteries!), warm blankets, and crucial medications are all on my list. This part requires some serious planning!
2. Der Notfall-Koffer:
I made a special Notfall-Koffer with all our most important documents – passports, insurance policies, birth certificates, etc. – as well as some cash. I also keep extra car keys, and instructions on how to access our bank accounts, in case I can´t access it through an online system.
3. Der Kommunikationsplan:
This is vital. Designate a meeting place outside your home and make sure everyone in your family knows it. Agree on how you’ll contact each other if separated. This point was a big oversight for me during that initial scare.
4. Regelmäßige Übungen:
This is important. Don’t just create the plan and stick it in a drawer. Practice it! Do regular drills so everyone in the family knows what to do in an emergency. It's way less stressful to do this during a simulated drill. My kids are way better at this now and I´m way calmer too.
5. Der Schutzraum Check:
Make sure your Schutzraum is up to par. Check the water resistance regularly, make sure the ventilation is working well, and make sure there’s nothing in there you need to remove to make it safe. A clean and organized space is way better.
Creating a solid Ernstfall Schutzraum Notfallplan might feel overwhelming initially. Trust me, I get it. But trust me, the peace of mind it gives you is priceless. Better to be prepared than caught off guard. And remember, it's okay to start small. Even small steps towards a better plan are way better than doing nothing at all.
